National reform — RD 1155/2024
The 2025 immigration reform (RD 1155/2024) governs every student visa filed in Morocco. The following apply nationally: submit early — Extranjería decides the stay authorisation within 30 days and the visa is issued within 1 month of a favourable decision; your passport must be valid for at least 1 year from the application date; your admission letter must confirm tuition has been paid in full at a school authorised to teach Spanish (Instituto Cervantes / SIELE / SACIC); you must show funds of 100% of IPREM = €600.00/month (€7,200/year, frozen 2023–2026); health cover must be from a DGSFP-authorised insurer (minimum €30,000, no copayments, no waiting periods). Stays over 6 months: the visa is valid 365 days and you must obtain your TIE within 30 days of arrival.
Provinces under Agadir Consulate General jurisdiction
The Agadir Consulate General serves residents of the following nine provinces. If you live outside this demarcation, you must apply through the Spanish post that covers your province (for example, Casablanca, Rabat, Tánger, Tetuán or Nador).

Filing channel — university vs non-university study visas
Agadir treats university and non-university (including language-school) study visas differently. Check which route applies to you before you go:

University study visas
Filed at BLS Agadir without a prior appointment, Monday to Friday, 08:30–12:00.
B
Non-university study visas (e.g. language courses)
By appointment via the consulate email (cog.agadir@maec.es). Since 1 June 2025, non-university study visas may also be filed without an appointment at BLS on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 08:30–12:00.
If you are unsure which category your course falls under, email cog.agadir@maec.es before travelling to BLS. Rules and walk-in windows can change — confirm the current channel with the consulate.
Document checklist (long-stay student visa)
For full-time study lasting more than 90 days. The list below follows the national framework under RD 1155/2024 plus Morocco's document template. Agadir does not publish a separate study-visa checklist, so verify the exact list at filing.

National visa application form
Completed and signed. Two copies are typically requested under the Morocco template. Available in Spanish.

Passport photographs
Recent biometric photos, 3×4 cm, white background. Two photos are typically requested under the Morocco template.

Valid passport
Original + photocopy of the biographical page. Under RD 1155/2024 it must be valid for at least 1 year from the application date.

Moroccan ID + family book
Copy of your national identity card (CIN) and family book (livret de famille). Non-Moroccan residents show a valid Moroccan residence permit instead.

School acceptance letter + proof of paid tuition
From a school authorised to teach Spanish (Instituto Cervantes / SIELE / SACIC). Must confirm the programme and that tuition is paid in full — admission or a deposit alone is not sufficient (RD 1155/2024). Moroccan practice is strict on this: without proof of paid tuition the visa is not released.

Academic diploma / qualification
The qualification giving access to your studies, apostilled and sworn-translated into Spanish. Required under the Morocco template; confirm applicability for language-only courses at filing.

Proof of financial means
Evidence of 100% of IPREM = €600.00/month (€7,200/year) for the duration of your stay. The IPREM figure is frozen for 2023–2026.

Proof of accommodation in Spain
Signed lease, hotel reservation, or a letter from the school confirming your accommodation address.

Spanish health insurance
From a DGSFP-authorised insurer, minimum €30,000 cover, with no copayments and no waiting periods. Travel and Schengen policies are not accepted. Verify your insurer on the DGSFP register at rrpp.dgsfp.mineco.es.

Criminal record certificate Stays over 180 days · age 16+
In Morocco this is the Bulletin n°3 (obtainable online at casierjudiciaire.justice.gov.ma). It must cover every country you have lived in over the past 5 years, be no more than 3 months old, and carry a Hague Apostille + sworn Spanish translation.

Medical certificate Stays over 180 days · age 16+
From a doctor on the consulate's approved list, no more than 3 months old, using the standard International Health Regulations (2005) wording confirming no disease that could pose a public-health threat. Requires a sworn Spanish translation.
Foreign documents must be in Spanish. Any document not issued in Spanish must be translated by a sworn (jurado) translator accredited by Spain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC), and foreign public documents must carry the Hague Apostille before translation.
Apostille + sworn translation — the correct sequence
Morocco is a Hague Apostille country, so documents are apostilled (not consular-legalised). For the criminal record and medical certificates, follow this exact order:

Obtain the original document
Criminal record: the Bulletin n°3 via the online portal casierjudiciaire.justice.gov.ma (issued by the National Centre of Criminal Record and local first-instance courts). Medical certificate: from a doctor on the consulate's approved list.

Get the Hague Apostille
The competent Moroccan authorities are the King's Public Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation, the public prosecutors at courts of first instance, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Justice, and the walis/governors of prefectures and provinces.

Sworn Spanish translation
Have the apostilled document translated by a MAEC-accredited sworn (jurado) translator.

Submit
Original + Apostille + Spanish translation, plus photocopies of each. The criminal record and medical certificates must be no more than 3 months old at submission.

I live in Taroudant — do I apply in Agadir? +
Yes. Taroudant is one of the nine provinces under Agadir Consulate General jurisdiction, so you apply through BLS Agadir.
Do I need an appointment for a language-course (non-university) visa? +
Non-university study visas are arranged by appointment via the consulate email (cog.agadir@maec.es). Since 1 June 2025, they may also be filed without an appointment at BLS on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between 08:30 and 12:00. University study visas are filed at BLS without an appointment, Monday to Friday, 08:30–12:00. Confirm the current arrangement with the consulate before travelling.
How much money do I need to show? +
You must prove 100% of IPREM, which is €600.00 per month (€7,200 per year). The IPREM amount is frozen for 2023–2026. Show enough to cover the full length of your stay.
What is the visa fee in Agadir? +
The national student-visa fee is the equivalent of about €80, charged in dirhams. We could not confirm an Agadir-specific published figure, so treat €80 as the national band and confirm the exact amount at filing.
Where do I get my criminal record certificate? +
In Morocco the certificate is the Bulletin n°3, available through the online portal casierjudiciaire.justice.gov.ma (issued by the National Centre of Criminal Record and local first-instance courts). For stays over 180 days it must be apostilled, sworn-translated into Spanish, and no more than 3 months old — and it must cover every country you have lived in over the past 5 years.

Apply 2–3 months before your course start date. Extranjería decides the stay authorisation within 30 days, and the visa is issued within one month of a favourable decision. Add time for the Apostille, sworn translations and gathering documents. Note that medical certificates and criminal-record certificates expire within 3 months, so don't prepare them too far in advance.
Do I get a TIE after arriving in Spain? +
If your course lasts more than 6 months, your visa is valid for 365 days and you must apply for your TIE (foreigner's ID card) within 30 days of arriving in Spain. Shorter stays do not require a TIE.
