Student Visa Spain is a project of TEFL Iberia, an English teacher training academy that has been operating in Spain since 2012. In that time we have helped hundreds of English speakers move to Spain, find courses, navigate bureaucracy, and build a life here.
We are not a visa agency and we don't charge for advice. We built this site because the information students need is scattered, often outdated, and almost never specific enough to be useful. Spanish consulates are notoriously difficult to communicate with and inconsistent in their rules and advice. We created this page to make everything as easy as possible.
Most student visa rejections are not complicated. The wrong insurance, the form completed incorrectly, insufficient funds, no medical certificate. These are the most common reasons applications fail, and they are all avoidable with the right information upfront.
We built Student Visa Spain to be the resource we wished existed when we started: consulate-specific, current, and honest about the parts that are genuinely complicated.
Everything on this site is free. The guides, the consulate breakdowns, the form helper, the school finder — no paywall, no sign-up required.
We earn a referral fee from partner schools when a student enrols through us. We pass that fee directly to you as a €500 discount off the standard course price — so you pay less than if you went direct, and we cover our costs. The school gets a pre-qualified student who already understands the visa process. Everyone benefits.
Visa rules change and consulate requirements change. Schools lose accreditation or update their prices. We monitor the Instituto Cervantes accreditation register, official consulate guidance, and Spanish immigration legislation on an ongoing basis.
All factual claims on this site — processing times, document requirements, financial thresholds — are sourced from official Spanish government publications, individual consulate guidance pages, or direct confirmation from consulates. Where something is uncertain or consulate-specific, we say so rather than generalise.
If you spot an error or know of a rule change we have not captured, please let us know. The site is more useful when it is accurate.
For questions about the visa process, school recommendations, or anything else on the site, email us directly. We read everything and respond to most messages within one working day.
